Remove a device

When you reach your subscription limit, or your subscription is overused, you can free up subscription seats by deactivating and uninstalling devices you no longer use. After disconnecting your device, you cannot manage and view its security in the ESET HOME account.


important

We recommend you uninstall the unused ESET product so you can free up the subscription unit for another device.

Remove a device from the leaked subscription and reset the activation key

To remove your devices from the leaked subscription and reset your activation key, follow the instruction below:

1.Log in to the ESET HOME web portal.

2.In the Subscriptions section, click Show all subscriptions.

3.Next to the applicable subscription, click the three-dots three_dots_menu icon > Remove devices.

4.Select the applicable devices or the Select all check box.

If you do not recognize devices displayed on the screen, select the Reset activation key check box.

5.Click Remove devices.

6.Selected devices are removed. ESET product deactivation may take six hours to complete. Click Finish, and your new activation key is sent to your email address and appears on the screen.

7.Reactivate all legitimate devices with your new activation key or ESET HOME account credentials.

To ensure no further leaks occur, we recommend you change the ESET HOME password used to log in to home.eset.com. Also, we recommend activating Two-Factor Authentication to increase the security of your ESET HOME account.

Disconnect/Unprotect and deactivate a device

A device from the specific subscription in ESET HOME

1.On the ESET HOME web portal, click Show all subscriptions in the Subscriptions section.

1.Select the subscription where you want to remove a device. Click Open subscription to access it.

2.Click the three-dots three_dots_menu icon next to the device you want to remove.

3. Based on the subscription unit category:

a)Click Disconnect on the device under the Devices connected to your ESET HOME account category.

b)Click Unprotect on the device under the Other devices protected by your subscription category.

4.Click Disconnect device/Unprotect device in the alert window to confirm your decision.


important

The ESET product on the device will be deactivated, not uninstalled, and the device will lose its protection. We recommend you uninstall the unused ESET product so you can free up the subscription unit for another device.

A device from the Devices section in ESET HOME

1.On the ESET HOME web portal, click Show all devices.

2.Click the three-dots three_dots_menu icon next to the device you want to disconnect.

3.Click Disconnect.

4.Click Disconnect device in the alert window to confirm your decision.

ESET HOME in the application

1.Log in to your ESET HOME app.

2.Tap Devices on the home screen to open the list of all your devices.

3.Tap the three dotsthree_dots_menu button.

4.Tap Disconnect > Disconnect device.


note

There might be a short delay before you can use the freed-up protection for another device.


Disconnecting without device deactivation

The ESET product installed on the device will be disconnected, not uninstalled, and the device will still be protected.

ESET HOME in your ESET product

Log out from your ESET HOME account via the ESET product on your device. The ESET product remains activated:

1.Open your ESET home product's main program window.

2.Click ESET HOME > Disconnect from ESET HOME.

3.Click Disconnect.
