Antivirus protection

ESET HOME provides a comprehensive overview of all units activated by a given member with an antivirus feature for devices with Windows, MacOS, Android and Windows Server.

Activated units are listed in chronological order based on the activation date, with the the earliest activated device appearing first. For each activated unit with antivirus by given member, the following information are available:

Device name

Device type

Device details

Units that have been assigned but are not yet activated are listed in ascending order based on the date the protection was provisioned. For every unit assigned to the given member, following information are available:

Unit name (default)

Unit details

If a member doesn't currently use antivirus protection, click the +Add protection button.

Rename device

If you want to rename the device with the antivirus protection to ensure the name is clear, and easily recognized, follow the instructions below:

1.Log in to your ESET HOME account.

2.Click Members.

3.Choose the member who's device you want to rename.

4.From the side menu, choose Antivirus.

5.Click the specific device to display details.

6.Click the Edit icon Edit icon, and type new device name.

7.Click Rename device to confirm.

Protection status

Devices/Servers devices protected by your subscription may have the following security statuses:

Protected Protected—The device/server device is protected, updated regularly, and its subscription has not expired.

Security alert Subscription issue—The ESET product does not work correctly.

Inactive device Inactive device—This status appeared on your device when:

The device has not communicated with your ESET HOME account for an extended period (for example, a broken device). If you no longer use this device, remove it to free up the subscription seats.

You are using the force stop or cleaning application on your Android device. In this case, manually open the ESET Mobile Security application on your Android device to work correctly and solve the issue.


Important

To ensure your Android device is active and properly protected, we recommend adding the ESET Mobile Security application to the Ignore list or whitelist in your Force stop/cleaning application. The method to exclude an app from the force stop process may vary depending on your application.

Notifications

Displays issues with the ESET product installed on the device/server. Click the specific notification to see the detailed information.

Options

Anti-Theft—Click this option to manage devices protected by Anti-Theft. This feature is available only if your device is protected by Anti-Theft.

Linked member—Assign device to a household member, or view the name of the member to whom is the device currently assigned.

Remove protection—Unprotect the device to free up activation for a different one.

Detail

ESET HOME displays detailed information about the antivirus installation on the device so that you can identify if some action is needed:

Operation system—Windows, Android, MacOS, Windows Server, Android TV.

Activation date—Refers to the date on which a product became active.

Subscription—Click View subscription to display detail of subscription, which activated given device.

Installed product—Security product that has been successfully installed on the device.

Product version—Information about the security product identified by a version number.
