Sample submission
The sample submission feature enables users to submit sample files for analysis and displays all Sample reports submitted by the user.
The reports are sorted by:
•Name—The name of the report
•Read/Unread—The Read/Unread status of the report
•Status—The status of the report
•Type—The type of the submitted file
•Created By—The user who created the report
•Created—The date and time when the report was created
•Updated—The date and time when the report was last updated
Click Add filter to filter the displayed reports with custom filter parameters.
Using the Reports screen
Click the three dots icon next to the report to display the following:
•Show report detail—Display details about the selected report
•Regenerate report—Regenerate the selected report
•Download results—Download the report results in PDF or XML
oAdditional data—You can download all relevant files related to this report
•Submit to ESET Research Lab—Submit the report of the submitted sample to the ESET Research Lab for analysis
•Mark report—Select the option:
oMark as read—Mark the selected report as read if it is unread
oMark as unread—Mark the selected report as unread if it is read
To mark reports as read/unread in bulk, select several reports, click the Actions button and select the needed option.
Submit a sample
The following types of files can be analyzed: •Windows Executables (.exe, .dll, etc.) •Android application installation files (.apk) •Office documents (.doc, .xls, .ppt, etc.) •Scripts (.js, .vbs, .bat, etc.) •Java (.class, .jar…) •Web page files (.htm, .url, etc.) •Flash (.swf) •PDF documents (.pdf) •Pictures (.JPG, .gif) |
To submit a file sample, follow these steps:
1.In the Sample submission screen, click Submit sample for analysis.
2.In the opened window, browse for or drag-and-drop the file(s) you want to submit into the File(s) area.
3.Fill the Hash of the submitted file in the Hash(es) field.
4.Select the Make results private check box if you want the analysis results to be private. The results of the private report are accessible only to you and the customer's administrators.
5.Click Submit to submit the selected sample(s) for analysis.
6.When the submitted sample file is analyzed, you can download the analysis results from the Threat Insights > Sample submission screen.
