ESET MDR

ESET MDR provides an overview of incidents and detections from ESET Inspect. To use ESET MDR, you need an ESET Inspect license and the ESET PROTECT MDR tier.

ESET MDR availability by country

ESET MDR is available in the following countries: USA, Canada, Japan, United Kingdom, Netherlands, France, Italy, DACH countries (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), Nordic countries (Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland), Slovakia, Czech Republic, Ukraine.

The ESET MDR service covers all the managed devices running ESET Inspect. Follow the steps below to select the devices for which you want to manage security independently from the ESET MDR service:

1.Open ESET PROTECT and navigate to Computers.

2.Click the gear icon next to the existing static parent group and select New Static Group.

3.Type exempt in the Name field and click Finish.

4.Select the parent group and select the devices you want to include in the exempt group.

5.Click the Computer button > Manage > Move to Group and select the exempt group.

The devices in the exempt group are under your management—You can handle incidents manually without the automatically applied response actions.

ESET MDR report

The ESET MDR report is a weekly summary of security-relevant information from various sources across the network.

You need the following permission sets to schedule the ESET MDR report:

Server Tasks & TriggersGenerate Report—Use, Write

After you activate the ESET PROTECT MDR license, one server task is automatically scheduled with the admin´s assigned email.

Recipients will receive the ESET MDR Weekly Report automatically.

1.Click Reports and select the Categories & Templates tab > ESET MDR.

2.Click the Actions gear icon on ESET MDR Weekly Report and click Schedule.

3.Optionally, click Select tags to assign tags to the report. Click Continue.

4. Select the preferred language of the report from the Locale drop-down menu and select your time zone from the Timezone drop-down menu. Trigger type drop-down menu is disabled. The weekly option (every Monday) is selected automatically.

5.Type the recipient´s email address into the Send To field.

6.You can also select Customize message and type your Subject and the Message body.

7.Click Finish.

Alternatively, you can create the ESET MDR Weekly Report by running a Generate Report server task:

1.Select Tasks > New > add_new_defaultServer Task.

2.Select Generate Report from the Task drop-down menu and click Continue.

3.Click Add report template and select ESET MDR Weekly Report.

4.Type the recipient´s email address in the Send To field.

5.You can also select Customize message and type your Subject and the Message body.

6.Click Continue.

7.Select the preferred language of the report from the Locale drop-down menu and select your time zone from the Timezone drop-down menu. Trigger type drop-down menu is disabled. The weekly option (every Monday) is selected automatically.

8.Click Continue.

9.Check your settings in Summary and click Finish.

You will receive the ESET MDR Weekly Report as a .pdf file.

The ESET MDR Weekly Report is generated every Monday with an active ESET PROTECT MDR tier.
