Note

The Device Owner enrollment type is available only for Android devices with Android 7 and later.

Enrollment requires physical access to the device.

The Android device must be after a wipe/factory reset or out-of-the-box for the enrollment.

1.Turn on the mobile device.

2.Type the SIM card pin.

3.On the Welcome screen, select the preferred language and then tap the screen six times in the same spot to start the QR code setup.

4.Scan the QR code generated in the ESET PROTECT Web Console to set up the mobile device.

5.Follow the setup process wizard.

Note

Some devices may require you to encrypt the device's storage (sometimes, it is also required to connect the charger). Select the type of encryption you want and proceed according to the instructions on the screen.

6.You will be requested to confirm that you understand that the device will be managed and that you are granting elevated Device Owner rights to the Administrator.

Note

The screen layout may differ depending on the mobile phone manufacturer.

The device is managed by your organization.

7.Finish the setup process wizard. The ESET Endpoint Security for Android application will be installed, and the required permissions will be applied.

The device is now enrolled in the Device Owner mode.
