Install the Agent using the Live Installer

For more information about the Live Installer, see the full description in the ESET PROTECT documentation.

We recommend using a separate installer for each customer. Use the installer you created during the MSP customer setup process.


The Live script installers for Windows are available only for on-premises <%EP%> users.

Installer distribution

To distribute the Live installer:

1.Distribute the compressed Live Installer file to your target client computers using email, a shared folder, or removable media (for example, a USB flash drive).

2.On the client computer, extract the Live Installer file using a program like WinZip or 7Zip.

3.Double-click the extracted batch file on your client workstation to install the ESET Management Agent.

If the client computers do not have an ESET security product installed, deploy ESET endpoint products using ESET PROTECT for MSPs.

Installer troubleshooting

Try the following if you encounter errors:

If you receive a "Failed to get installers" or "Failed to synchronize package repository" error while performing the steps above, your third-party firewall might be blocking certain communications based on the country of origin. If so, we recommend allowing communications to and from the ESET PROTECT repository on your third-party firewall.

If you receive an "Error code 1603 - Installation ended prematurely" message when installing the ESET Management Agent, use the following troubleshooting steps to resolve this error:

a.If you are running the ESET Live Installer from a shared location, copy the Live Installer file to the local disk and try the installation again.

b.When running the ESET Management Agent Live Installer, right-click it and select Run as Administrator.

c.If the issue persists, collect and submit an ESET Sysinspector log to ESET technical support.
