Sizing

ESET PROTECT enables you to manage ESET products on workstations, servers, mobile devices and other platforms in a networked environment with up to 50,000 devices.

Data retention

You can specify the cleanup period for specific log types stored in the Settings section.

Backup

We back up the ESET PROTECT databases with the built-in backup feature of Microsoft Azure. Microsoft Azure is responsible for the physical and environmental security. Microsoft Azure uses certified data centers with robust physical security measures. The physical location of the data center depends on the region that the customer selects. Encryption protects customer data during the transfer from the cloud environment to the backup storage.

We store all configuration data in repositories that we back up regularly. These backups allow automated recovery of the configuration of an environment. We keep ESET PROTECT data backups on-site and off-site. We encrypt all backups. We test the backups for recoverability regularly as part of business continuity tests.

Backup and recovery

•We retain backups for 7 days. You can restore them within the defined retention window.

•Backup data is encrypted at rest.

•We store and maintain all backup data within the service region.

•We maintain backups solely for service continuity and disaster recovery. You cannot restore individual customer-deleted items or configurations.

Backup access and version recovery

•The service provider manages backup copies, and the customer cannot access them directly.

•You cannot restore the application to a previous version.

•Version downgrade capabilities are not available.

Deletion of unused consoles

Consoles that have not managed any devices or cloud integrations since their creation are considered unused and may be permanently deleted if they remain unused for more than thirty days. Before the deletion, you receive an email notification with details of the deletion process. You do not need to take any action. The deletion is permanent and applies only to unused consoles. Deletion does not affect your subscriptions, devices or services managed through other consoles.
