- AD—Active Directory

- ESA core or AS—Authentication Server that verifies the validity of an entered OTP.
- ECP—Exchange Control Panel
- FQDN—Fully qualified domain name
- GPO—Group Policy Object
- IdP—Identity Provider
- MRK—Master recovery key
- Online (Online mode)—An ESA component is in online mode if it can contact the Authentication Server via TCP/IP connection.
- Offline (Offline mode)—An ESA component is in offline mode if it cannot contact the Authentication Server via TCP/IP connection.
- OS—Operating System.
- OTP—an one time password, either with limited time validity (time-based OTP) or without limited time validity (event-based OTP).
- OWA—Outlook Web Access
- Mobile Application Push—push notification with limited time validity
- RDP—Remote Desktop Protocol. A proprietary protocol developed by Microsoft which provides a user with a graphical interface to connect to another computer over a network connection.
