Getting started

1.Download ESET Online Scanner from the ESET website by clicking the One-time scan button.

2.Double-click the .exe file you downloaded to run the application.

3.Select product language.

4.Click Get started and confirm the User access control dialog of Windows.

5.In the Terms of use screen, click Accept if you agree to the Terms of use. After accepting the terms of use, the shortcut for ESET Online Scanner is created on the Desktop.

6.Click Get started in the welcome screen.

7.Select whether to join the Customer Experience Improvement Program, and whether to enable the feedback system. Click Continue.

8.Choose a scan type.

9.Select whether to enable the detection of potentially unwanted applications (PUA) or to adjust Advanced settings.

10.Click Start scan.

11.After the detection module updates are downloaded, the scan starts. The progress bar shows the scan progress, along with the path and title of the file being scanned. You can pause or cancel the scan at any time.

12.When the scan is finished and threats have been detected, click View Detailed Results or Save Scan Log to review the results later. Click Continue.

13.If no ESET security product is detected on your machine, and your user account has administrator privileges, ESET Online Scanner will offer you to turn on Periodic scan. Click Continue.

14.In the Thank you for using ESET Online Scanner screen, you can rate the application and leave feedback.

15.If you want to, you can select check box Delete application data on closing (sort of uninstallation) to remove ESET Online Scanner from your system.

16.Click Continue if you rated the application, or click Close without feedback.

17.If you clicked Continue, feel free to leave a message for your feedback.

18.Click Tell us more about your thoughts on ESET in a short survey will redirect to the survey.

19.Click Submit and close to continue to the window where you can add your email address where scan results will be sent.

20.Click Submit to send the results or click Close application to finish work with ESET Online Scanner.
