Transition to ESET PROTECT Hub (Partners)
Transition Overview
1.What is happening with ESET MSP Administrator 2?
ESET MSP Administrator 2 (EMA2) is being phased out. All license management will move to its successor, ESET PROTECT Hub (EPH).
2.Will MSPs need to take any action?
No. The migration is automatic, and MSPs will be notified in advance.
3.Will MSPs experience downtime?
Yes, but only temporarily during the migration window, which is scheduled outside business hours.
4.What about Hybrids who have access to both ESET MSP Administrator 2 and ESET Business Account?
If the accounts are linked through an ESET PROTECT instance, they will be merged. Users can change the persona via a drop-down menu to access both accounts.
For more details about hybrid scenarios, see the following Knowledgebase article: How hybrid ESET Business Account and ESET MSP Administrator 2 scenarios will work in ESET PROTECT Hub.
5.Will MSPs lose any data?
No license or device data will be lost. However, license history and audit logs will not be migrated.
6.Will MSPs need to reconfigure anything?
No reinstallation is needed. However, they may need to familiarize themselves with the new interface.
7.Will MSPs need to update any integrations or workflows?
Users with API access will be transitioned to ESET PROTECT Hub. The API remains fully functional and will not be impacted by the transition. However, some API endpoints will change. These are not considered breaking changes, as 1:1 functionality is maintained, so all existing integrations will continue to work without modification.
For a detailed overview of API changes, refer to the following Online help article: How will the End of Life affect users of ESET MSP Administrator 2 API?
8.Will MSPs receive training or support?
Yes. ESET will provide onboarding materials and support channels for MSPs.
9.Can Partners monitor MSP migration status?
No. Migration is executed as a single action affecting all MSPs simultaneously, and downtime will also impact Partner access. Migration progress cannot be tracked in real time.
