ESET PROTECT supports VDI naming patterns for:
•VMware Horizon 8.x instant clones
•Citrix XenCenter/XenServer 8+ machine catalogs
If you set up VMware instant clones or Citrix XenCenter/XenServer machine catalogs, provide the VDI naming pattern settings:
1.Select the Identify clones by VDI naming pattern check box.
2.Type the VDI naming pattern for clones.
VDI naming pattern ESET PROTECT recognizes only clones with names matching the naming pattern set in the VDI environment: •VMware - The VDI naming pattern must have a specified placeholder for a unique number {n} generated by the VDI infrastructure, for example, VM-instant-clone-{n}. Refer to the VMware documentation for more details on naming patterns. •Citrix XenCenter/XenServer - Use the hash # in the machine catalog naming scheme, for example, VM-office-##. Refer to the Citrix documentation for more details on naming schemes. Click Add new to add more VDI naming patterns. |
3.Click Save.
You can change the Master for Cloning settings later in the computer details: •Adjust the settings by clicking the gear icon in the Virtualization tile. •Remove the settings by clicking Virtualization > Unmark as Master for Cloning. |
