Added value

By migrating your devices into the Companies static group tree, you will receive the following benefits:

Automatically synchronized group structure in ESET PROTECT

When a new customer is added through a management portal (ESET MSP Administrator or ESET PROTECT Hub), the customer will automatically appear in ESET PROTECT under the Companies static group.

Administrator will no longer have to create a static group manually for every customer.

Automatically synchronized access rights in ESET PROTECT

The setup of granular permission sets per customer or site is currently too complex—partially, they need to be set in the license management portal (ESET MSP Administrator or ESET Business Account) and partially in ESET PROTECT.

In ESET PROTECT Hub, you can set up the access rights, and they will automatically propagate into ESET PROTECT, assigned to the synchronized static groups. Administrators will not have to perform the permissions setup twice (in ESET MSP Administrator and in ESET PROTECT).

When the divergence between ESET PROTECT Hub and ESET PROTECT access rights is needed, you can set up the custom permission set for ESET PROTECT.

Improved deployment capabilities in ESET PROTECT

After the migration, ESET PROTECT can decide to which company the device belongs, which may result in an improved experience when using the Solutions screen.

ESET PROTECT can always select the correct device licenses, depending on their location in the static group tree.

Proper multi-tenancy

We plan to create the Lost & Found group for every customer, located under the Companies group (as opposed to the current situation, where there is only one Lost & Found group containing the devices of every customer).

The Managed Customers page provides numerous useful statistics for every customer but only reflects the devices migrated into the Companies subgroups.

Incident management currently works on per-customer basis and each incident contains only devices and detections from the given company. Therefore, incidents will be correctly reflected only after all devices are migrated into the respective Companies sub-groups.
