ESET Vulnerability & Patch Management (VAPM)
ESET Vulnerability & Patch Management (VAPM) is a solution that manages OS and application vulnerabilities and provides the status of applied patches. VAPM allows you to identify machines susceptible to threats of outdated operating systems and applications. The client machine is scanned to detect any installed software vulnerable to security risks. Client machine vulnerability information is assigned a severity (risk score). Automated scanning with instant reporting to the ESET PROTECT Web Console allows you to prioritize vulnerabilities based on severity, manage security risks and allocate resources effectively. A wide range of filtering options allows you to identify and focus on critical security issues. In addition, you can run regular vulnerability scans automatically using the scheduler. The actual patching is manual, giving you full control of when the patching takes place and when to restart the machine (if a restart is required).
By managing vulnerabilities as a preventative measure and quickly applying security patches, you can keep your OS and applications up to date with the latest patches, reducing the risk of being exposed to known vulnerabilities and exploits.
Main functions of ESET Vulnerability & Patch Management:
•Automatically collects client vulnerability information
•Vulnerability severity leveling
•List of target clients
Prerequisites:
To use ESET Vulnerability & Patch Management (VAPM), you need to manage your machines with ESET PROTECT, a cloud-based security management tool. VAPM is not available in ESET PROTECT On-Prem. |
Ensure you have one of the following ESET PROTECT Platform tiers:
•ESET PROTECT Complete
•ESET PROTECT Elite
•ESET PROTECT MDR
•ESET PROTECT MDR Ultimate
To enable and configure ESET Vulnerability & Patch Management in ESET PROTECT, see the ESET PROTECT Online Help for details. You can also refer to the FAQ.
