To deploy ESET Management Agent using ERA 5.x, read this Knowledgebase article.

2. Upgrade from ERA 6.x version to the latest ESMC 7 version

Since the ESMC 7 Service release, you can upgrade your ERA 6.x to the latest version:

Using the Security Management Center Components Upgrade task - recommended

Manually  - for advanced users

If your infrastructure utilizes the ERA Proxy component, read the documentation on Proxy migration before upgrading.

To look up what version of each ESMC component you are running, verify your ESET Security Management Center Server version. Go to the About page in the ESMC Web Console, and then the following Knowledgebase article for a list of all ESMC component versions for ESMC Server.

3. Upgrade from  ESMC to ESMC Service Release

The ESMC 7 Service Release was on the 15th November 2018. If you installed ESMC prior to that date, we recommend you upgrade your infrastructure to the latest version.

The recommended upgrade method for ERA 6.x users is the Security Management Center Components Upgrade task.

ESMC users are prompted by Update ESMC notification to upgrade the Server component. After the Server is upgraded successfully, upgrade your Agents using Security Management Center Components Upgrade task.

After the release of Service Release installers, the ESMC installers are not available.

4. Migrate or reinstall ESMC 7 from one server to another

There will be significant changes to users and tasks after upgrading from an earlier version of ERA (6.4 and earlier) to version 7.0. See the list of new features.

The security model in ESMC 7.0 is different from the previous one and reviewing users settings, groups and tasks is necessary.

The design of the Web Console is improved and the name of the product is changed.

The ERA Proxy component is deprecated.
