Web Console installation

You can install the ESMC Web Console on a different computer than the computer where the ESMC Server is installed.

To install the ESMC Web Console component on Windows, follow the steps below:

1.Make sure the following prerequisites are met:

ESMC Server installed.

Web Console file (era.war) saved to your local hard drive. Visit the ESET Security Management Center download section to download a standalone installer for this ESMC component (era.war).

Apache Tomcat is a mandatory component required to run ESMC Web Console.

a)Download the latest supported version of the Apache Tomcat installer file (32-bit/64-bit Windows Service Installer) apache-tomcat-[version].exe from https://tomcat.apache.org.

b)Run the installer.

c)During the installation, select the path to Java (parent folder of Java bin and lib folders).

d)After the installation, make sure that Apache Tomcat service startup type is set to Automatic (in services.msc).

Apache Tomcat requires Java/OpenJDK.

If you have multiple Java versions installed on your system, we recommend that you uninstall earlier Java versions and keep only the latest version of Java.

Make sure that Java, ESMC, and Apache Tomcat have the same bitness (32-bit or 64-bit).

2.Copy era.war to the Apache Tomcat web applications folder:

C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\[ Tomcat folder ]\webapps\

3.Allow a few minutes for file extraction and ESMC Web Console installation.

4.Continue with the next steps applicable for you:

If you installed ESMC Web Console on the same computer as ESMC Server:

a)Restart the Apache Tomcat service. Navigate to Start  > Services > right-click the Apache Tomcat service and select Stop. Wait for 30 seconds and then click Start.

b)Open ESMC Web Console in your browser: http://localhost:8080/era/; a login screen will be displayed.

The default HTTP port is set to 8080 during the Apache Tomcat installation. You can also set up an HTTPS connection for Apache Tomcat.

If you installed ESMC Web Console on a different computer than ESMC Server, perform these additional steps to enable communication between ESMC Web Console and ESMC Server:

a)Stop the Apache Tomcat service: Navigate to Start  > Services > right-click the Apache Tomcat service and select Stop.

b)Run Notepad as an Administrator and edit the C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\[ Tomcat folder ]\webapps\era\WEB-INF\classes\sk\eset\era\g2webconsole\server\modules\config\EraWebServerConfig.properties.

c)Find the server_address=localhost.

d)Replace localhost with the IP address of your ESMC Server and save the file.

e)Start the Apache Tomcat service: Navigate to Start > Services > right-click the Apache Tomcat service and select Start.

f)Open ESMC Web Console in your browser: https://Server-IP/era/ (substitute Server-IP with the IP address of your ESMC Server); a login screen will be displayed.
