Web Console installation - Linux

Before installing the ESMC Web Console component, make sure all prerequisites are met. Follow these steps to install ESMC Web Console:

1.Run the following commands to copy the era.war file to the Tomcat folder:

Debian and Ubuntu distributions

sudo cp era.war /var/lib/tomcat7/webapps/

CentOS, Red Hat and Fedora distributions

sudo cp era.war /var/lib/tomcat/webapps/

OpenSUSE distribution

sudo cp era.war /usr/share/tomcat/webapps/

Alternatively, you can extract the contents of era.war to /var/lib/tomcat/webapps/era/

2.Run the following command to restart the Tomcat service and deploy the .war file:

Debian and Ubuntu distributions

sudo service tomcat7 restart

CentOS, Red Hat and Fedora distributions

sudo service tomcat restart

OpenSUSE distribution

sudo service tomcat restart

3.If you installed ESMC Web Console on a different computer than ESMC Server, perform these additional steps to enable communication between ESMC Web Console and ESMC Server:

I.Stop the Tomcat service: sudo service tomcat7 stop.

II.Edit the EraWebServerConfig.properties file:
sudo nano /var/lib/tomcat/webapps/era/WEB-INF/classes/sk/eset/era/g2webconsole/server/modules/config/EraWebServerConfig.properties
If the EraWebServerConfig.properties file is not located in the above path, you can use the following command to find the file on your system:

find / -iname "EraWebServerConfig.properties"

III.Find the server_address=localhost.

IV.Replace localhost with the IP address of your ESMC Server and save the file.

V.Restart the Tomcat service: sudo service tomcat7 restart

Test the connection to ESMC Web Console after installation. Open the following link in your browser on localhost (a login screen should be displayed):

http://localhost:8080/era or, if you access the server remotely, http://IP_ADDRES_OR_HOSTNAME:8080/era

HTTP port, by default 8080, is set during manual Apache Tomcat installation. You can also set up HTTPS connection for Apache Tomcat.
