Security Management Center Components Upgrade

The Security Management Center Components Upgrade task is used to upgrade ESMC components (ESET Management Agent, ESMC Server, Webconsole and MDM).

You can use this task to upgrade to ESMC 7 only from ERA version 6.3 and later.

The upgrade task can be executed only on a machine with ESET Management Agent installed. The Agent is also required on an ESMC Server.

Do not update Agents before the ESMC Server is updated. ESET Management Agents 7.x are using a new communication protocol and are not able to connect to the ERA Server 6.x.

To prevent installation failure, ESMC performs the following checks before installing or upgrading ESET products:

access to the repository

if there is enough (1 GB) free space on the client machine (not available for Linux)

Basic

Enter basic information about the task, such as the Name and optional Description. Task Category and Task Type are pre-selected based on your previous choice. The Task Type (see the list of all Client Tasks) defines the settings and the behavior for the task.

Settings

Select the check box I accept the terms of the application End User License Agreement and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. See License Management or EULA for more information.

Reference Security Management Center Server - Select ESMC Server version from the list. All ESMC components will be upgraded to versions compatible with the selected server.

Automatically reboot when needed - You can force a reboot of the client operating system, if the installation requires it.

Summary

Review the summary of configured settings and click Finish. The Client Task is now created and a pop-up window will open. We recommend that you click Create Trigger to specify when this Client Task should be executed and on what Targets. If you click Close, you can create a Trigger later. To create a trigger afterward, select the client task instance and select Run on from the drop-down menu.
