Webcam protection

Webcam protection informs you about processes and applications that access your computer's web camera. When an application tries to access your camera, you get a notification to allow or block the access. The color of the alert window depends on the application's reputation.

Webcam protection setup options can be modified in Advanced setup (F5) > Device control > Webcam protection.

To activate the Webcam protection feature in ESET Internet Security, enable the slider bar next to Enable Webcam protection.

When Webcam protection is enabled, Rules become active, allowing you to open the Rules editor window.

To turn off alerts for applications with a rule present that were modified but still have a valid digital signature (for example, an application update), enable the slider bar next to Disable webcam access alerts for modified applications.
