ESET Inspect – Table of Contents

Terminal

When remotely investigating issues, use the terminal tab to connect to a client computer.

Terminal access is only available on computers running Microsoft Windows. Ensure the client computer is using PowerShell version 5.1 or later.

Log in to the terminal using the ESET Inspect user account. User account requirements:

Remote Shell Access permission in ESET PROTECT under the Granted ESET Inspect Functionality.

2FA to minimize security risks.

Terminal limitations:

Supported—Single command line tools and scripts.

Not supported—Full-screen text applications.

Important

You may encounter issues when you use single sign-on with Microsoft Entra ID. Single sign-on with Microsoft Entra ID does not support actions that require Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) in the Terminal. See recommended workaround.
