Onboarding
After installing ESET Endpoint Security, the Onboarding wizard appears—screens to guide you through recommended and mandatory steps for a fully functional ESET Endpoint Security.
1.Enable Recommended Protection Settings, select your preferred options and click Continue. For more information about ESET LiveGrid® or Potentially Unwanted Applications, visit our Glossary.
2.Mandatory step: Component installation. Choose either complete installation or a custom installation where you select which components should be installed.
3.Next, the wizard prompts you to activate ESET Endpoint Security. You can find multiple activation options in the Activation chapter.
4.Mandatory step: Enable ESET System Extensions. Follow the on-screen instructions to continue the setup.
5.Mandatory step: Allow Proxy Configuration. Click Allow in the alert window.
6.Mandatory step: Allow ESET Network Access Protection. Click Allow in the alert window.
7.Mandatory step: Grant ESET Endpoint Security Full Disk Access. Follow on-screen instructions and allow full disk access.
8.Allow notifications. We recommend you allow notifications to stay informed of any detected threats to your system.
Skipping the ESET Endpoint Security onboarding wizardBy clicking Set Up Later, you can skip the mandatory setup but be aware your protection will only be partially functional. |
Restarting the onboarding wizard Open Finder > Applications > Control-click (or right-click) the ESET Endpoint Security icon > select Show Package Contents from the shortcut menu> open Contents > open Helpers> Onboarding. You can also set up the mandatory security settings manually by following chapter Manual Onboarding. |
After installing ESET Endpoint Security, you should perform a computer scan to check for malicious code. From the main program window, click Scan > Scan now. For more information about On-demand computer scans, see the On-demand computer scan chapter.
