Proxy server
In large LAN networks, a proxy server can mediate communication between your computer and the internet. Using this configuration, the following settings need to be defined. Otherwise the program will not be able to update itself automatically.
To configure the ESET Endpoint Security remotely:
1.In ESET PROTECT, click Policies > New policy and type a name for the policy.
To adjust the settings in an existing policy for ESET Endpoint for macOS (V7+), click the policy you want to change in the list of policies and click Edit > Settings. |
2.Click Settings and select ESET Endpoint for macOS (V7+) from the drop-down menu.
3.Adjust the desired settings.
4.Click Continue > Assign and select the appropriate group of computers.
5.Click Finish.
To configure the ESET Endpoint Security locally see application preferences. |
In Tools > Proxy server, you can specify the proxy server settings. Parameters defined here will be used by all modules that require a connection to the internet.
To configure the proxy server:
1.Enable Use proxy server and enter the proxy server's address into the Proxy server field and the Port number of the proxy server.
2.If the communication with proxy server requires authentication, enable Proxy server requires authentication and type in a valid Username and Password into the respective fields.
3.Enable Use direct connection if proxy is not available to bypass the proxy and communicate directly with ESET servers if the proxy is unreachable.
