Forgotten Key-File password

When you forget your Key-File password, there is no recovery process or password reset process in ESET Endpoint Encryption standalone client. The support team is unable to recover passwords or Key-Files.

Solution

Alternatives to regain access to the Key-File:

•Users who know their old password and have a Key-File backup associated with the old password can restore from the backup. After restoring the Key-File, the password will revert to the old one.

•Users that no longer need to access the encrypted data in ESET Endpoint Encryption can delete the Key-File and set up a new one.
