There are several ESET Endpoint Antivirus installation methods on a client workstation, unless you deploy ESET Endpoint Antivirus remotely to client workstations via ESET PROTECT or ESET PROTECT Cloud.


You can upgrade from ESET Endpoint Antivirus to ESET Endpoint Security by running the ESET Endpoint Security installer with ESET Endpoint Antivirus already installed. However, you must install the same or later version.

Installation with ESET AV Remover

The ESET AV Remover tool will help you to remove almost any antivirus software previously installed on your system before proceeding with installation.

In business environments, the .msi installer is the preferred installation package. This is mainly due to offline and remote deployments that use various tools such as ESET PROTECT.

Command-line installation

ESET Endpoint Antivirus can be installed locally using command-line or remotely using a client task from ESET PROTECT.


Deployment using GPO or SCCM

Use management tools such as GPO or SCCM to deploy ESET Management Agent and ESET Endpoint Antivirus to client workstations.


Deployment using RMM tools

ESET DEM plugins for the Remote Management and Monitoring (RMM) tool enables you to deploy ESET Endpoint Antivirus to client workstations.
