Restart of browsers for SSL certificate
For HTTPS scanning to work, ESET Cyber Security installs an SSL system certificate. The SSL certificate needs to be marked as trusted. To learn how to mark it as trusted, read the Trust SSL Certificate chapter. Your web browser then needs access to the certificate so it can be used to filter HTTPS traffic. Most browsers, such as Safari, Google Chrome, DuckDuckGo, etc., monitor the storage of system certificates and can use the certificate right away. Other browsers such as Firefox or Opera need to be restarted after you enable SSL/TLS in case the browser is running during the setup of ESET Cyber Security. After the browser or macOS is restarted, the SSL certificate is active and HTTPS traffic is filtered.
The list of browsers that need to be restarted for the SSL certificate to work might change with future updates. |
If your browser is running during the ESET Cyber Security setup, it is recommended to restart your browser or macOS after you enable SSL/TLS. |
