Network Access Protection
The network access protection setting includes Firewall, this protection controls all network traffic to and from the system by allowing or denying individual network connections. You can choose to enable or disable firewall. When you enable firewall, you get the option to Block all connections and to Enable stealth mode.
Block all connections
When this option is enabled, the firewall blocks all inbound and outbound communication. Use this option only if you suspect critical security risks requiring the system to disconnect from the network.
Enable stealth mode
Stealth mode provides extra security by making your computer or network less visible to potential attackers. This setting shouldn't be confused with features like VPN or private browsing. It is recommended to have stealth mode enabled especially when connected to an unknown network.
When connecting to a new network, ESET Cyber Security firewall dialog window is displayed. Here you get basic information about the network and options to mark the network as private or public. More advanced network settings can be found in application preferences, section Network Profiles. |
We highly recommend you enable firewall to take full advantage of ESET Cyber Security and keep your computer safe. To modify more advanced Firewall settings, open Application Preferences by using cmd+, or click ESET Cyber Security in the macOS menu bar, select Settings (Preferences) and select Firewall in the Protections row. |
