Network Profiles
Network profiles allow you to set the trust level for networks recognized by your firewall. We recommend assigning the trusted status to networks that you know are secure and reliable. When the computer is connecting to a new network a dialog window is shown where you can set the network type as either Private or Public. In case the dialog window is ignored, the more secure choice is made marking the network as public.
Private
Private networks are considered trustworthy. Inbound connections from these trusted (private) networks can be allowed through specific firewall rules.
Public or Guest
Public networks or those where you're a guest may not be trustworthy, and stricter rules apply to them.
Adding a network to network profiles is possible only by first connection to network detected by ESET Cyber Security firewall. The dialog window with network options does not show up when connecting to networks already stored in network profiles. |
