ESET PROTECT—Data centers

This page currently describes the cloud data centers used by ESET PROTECT.

ESET also has servers hosted in other data centers, including internal facilities, in locations such as Bratislava, Munich and San Diego. These data centers are outside the scope of this page. For an overview of the IP addresses and ranges required by ESET applications and services (for example, activation, module updates or user guides), including ESET PROTECT, see Knowledgebase article KB332.

Before you select a region

When you create an ESET PROTECT tenant, you choose a region. Your tenant is your organization's dedicated environment in the ESET PROTECT Platform.

The region you choose determines the designated Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS) locations used to store and process the data described in this notice.

Available regions:

• North America
• Europe
• Japan

Choose the region that meets your organization's data residency requirements.

IMPORTANT: You cannot change the region after your tenant has been created.

How the Platform is built

The ESET PROTECT Platform uses two cloud providers:

• Microsoft, which provides and operates Microsoft Azure
• Amazon, which provides and operates Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Microsoft Azure and AWS perform different functions within the Platform.

Microsoft Azure

Microsoft Azure hosts the Platform services. It stores:

• Incidents created by the Platform
• a copy of the Indicators related to those Incidents

Amazon Web Services

AWS hosts the Platform's big-data services. These services process and correlate Indicators to create Incidents.

AWS stores all Indicators, including:

• Indicators that are part of an Incident
• Indicators that are not part of an Incident

As a result, an Indicator that is part of an Incident may be stored both in AWS and in Microsoft Azure.
