Using ESET Server Security for Linux

Access the Web interface

If the installation is complete, log in to the Web interface at the URL address the installer displayed, along with the login credentials.

The Web interface is available in the following languages:

English

French

Spanish

Spanish (Latin)

German

Japanese

Ukrainian

Polish

ESET Server Security for Linux Web interface certificate

ESET Server Security for Linux Web interface uses a self-signed certificate. Accessing the Web interface for the first time will result in a certificate issue message unless you add a arrow_down_businesscertificate exception.

To use a custom SSL certificate for the Web interface, generate a certificate and import it to ESET Server Security for Linux.

Enable the Web interface remotely

If you complete the installation of ESET Server Security for Linux remotely via ESET PROTECT, the Web interface is not enabled.

If you want to access the Web interface on the specific machine, run the following command from a Terminal window:

The final output will show the URL address of the Web interface and the access credentials.

To make the Web interface available at a custom IP address and port, for example, 10.1.184.230:9999, run the following command from a Terminal window:

 

To enable the Web interface via ESET PROTECT, use the Run Command task to execute the following command:

where <password> represents the desired password defined by you.

Ensure that your password meets the following criteria:

Minimum number of characters: 14

One lowercase letter

One uppercase letter

One number

One special character

Product activation and initial scan

If you activated your instance of ESET Server Security for Linux, update the detection modules (click Status Overview > Module update > Check and update) and run an initial scan of your file system.

User settings

Click User account in the top bar of the Web Console (next to the Logout button) to customize your user settings such as:

Changing password via Web interface

1.Click the user profile next to logout button.

2.Click Change password.

3.Type in the old and new password. The new password must fulfill the criteria listed on the screen.

4.Click Save.

Theme

You can select the theme setting for ESET Server Security for Linux display:

Light

Dark

Same as the system color—Web Console color theme matches the operating system color theme.

Active sessions

Information about all active sessions of the current user contain:

Current username.

IP address of a client computer or a device from which a user is connected to Web Console. If Web Console is running on the same machine as ESET Server Security for Linux, 127.0.0.1 is displayed.

Details of the computer accessing the Web Console - operating system

Date and time when a user logged in.

The currently logged-in user sees a Log Out option instead of Disconnect for ending their session. Click Disconnect or Log Out to disconnect an active session that you no longer want to keep.
