Computer Users

This section allows you to manage Users and User Groups for the purpose of iOS Mobile Device Management. Mobile Device Management is conducted with the use of policies assigned to iOS devices. However, we recommend that you synchronize Users with Active Directory first. Then you can modify users or add Custom Attributes.

Computer Users are different from ESMC Web Console users. The Computer Users section allows you to pair a user with a device in order to synchronize user-specific settings. To manage ESMC Web Console users and permission sets, navigate to More > Users.

Users highlighted in orange have no device assigned to them. Click the user, select edit_defaultEdit and click Assigned Computers to view the details for that user. Click Add computers to assign computers or device(s) to this user.

You can also add or remove Assigned users from within Computers details. When you are in Computers or Groups, select a computer or mobile device and click details_defaultShow Details. The user can be assigned to more than one computer/mobile device. You can also use mn_icn_user_normal Assign User to assign a user directly to selected device(s). If there is a device assigned to a user, you can click the device name to view details about that device.

You can Drag & Drop users and user groups. Select the user (or group), hold the mouse button and move it to the other group.
