The following diagram illustrates the network communication and interactions between the ESET PRIVATE Scanning components:

•ESET Scanner Agent sends scan requests to the ESET PRIVATE Scanning Engine using gRPC API (for additional details on the possible API integrations with the Scanner please refer to dedicated sections).

•ESET Scanner returns scan results to the Agent.

•ESET Scanner periodically contacts ESET Update servers for module updates and downloads them when new versions are available.

Single-instance deployments (EKS/ECS deployment guides) use default VPC/basic networking for proof-of-concept validation only.

Production multi-zone deployments: Customer is responsible for network configuration (VPCs, multi-AZ subnets, security groups, NACLs, route tables) to accommodate traffic/communication between Cloud Scanner components. Refer to deployment guide scope limitations.
