Cost Considerations
The solution cost consists of mandatory components only.
Persistent data storage is not used in this solution; therefore, increasing storage capacity does not provide additional value.
Mandatory components:
•Software License – Required for all deployments. The license is billed on an hourly basis.
•Compute Infrastructure – Required to run the Scanner service (and individual components). All infrastructure costs are paid directly by the customer according to their AWS usage.
Optional components:
•Additional Scanner instances to increase parallel scanning capacity and throughput.
•High availability configurations and components, depending on customer requirements.
Licensing Model
The licensing model consists of two independent parts:
1.Hourly-billed software license according to the Marketplace offering
2.Infrastructure costs, fully managed and utilized by the customer, are billed directly by AWS based on actual resource usage.
The product software license cost scales with usage time, while infrastructure costs scale with the used compute resources.
Minimum Infrastructure Configuration
The minimum supported deployment for one Scanner instance per platform includes:
Amazon ECS
•Scanner pod: 1 vCPU, 2 GB RAM
•Network Load Balancer (NLB)
Amazon EKS
•Scanner pod: 1 vCPU, 2 GB RAM
No persistent storage is required for either deployment model.
Estimated Monthly Costs
Total monthly costs consist of:
•Hourly license costs
•AWS infrastructure costs
Because the solution does not require data storage, the cost estimate is driven primarily by compute resources and the duration of active license usage.
Cost Estimation and Scaling
The solution is horizontally scalable. Customers can independently scale infrastructure resources based on scanning demand by adding additional Scanner instances, while AWS bills them directly for the consumed resources.
