Set up caching for Agents

Once you have the proxy installed on the appropriate machine, you need to set up policies for ESET Management Agents and ESET Endpoints (or other ESET products) to use the proxy.

Important information

If you use the Apache HTTP Proxy for replication of Agents, (you have already installed Agents with the modified installer, in step 5 of the steps on this page), select Global Proxy and then edit the Global Proxy Host and Port settings. Enter the same values as when creating the installer.

1.Open ESET Security Management Center Web Console (ESMC Web Console) in your web browser and log in.

2.Click Policies > New Policy.

3.Type a Name and optional Description for your new policy in the appropriate fields.

4.Click Settings and select ESET Management Agent from the drop-down menu.

5.Expand Advanced Settings, under HTTP Proxy > Proxy Configuration Type select Different Proxy Per Service - Then click Edit next to ESET Services.

6.Click the slider bar next to Use proxy server and then type the IP address or fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of the server where Apache HTTP proxy is installed in the Host field. Type the username and password only if the proxy requires authentication. Click the slider bar next to Use direct connection if HTTP proxy is not available to allow this fallback option. Click Save.

7.Click Finish.

8.Select the policy that you just created and click Assign Group(s).

9.Select the check box next to each group that should receive updates from selected Apache HTTP Proxy and click OK.
