ESET Inspect includes all of the key features and capabilities you know from ESET Inspect On-Prem but has been adjusted to fit the needs of a cloud-based management.

The table below includes descriptions of the major differences between ESET Inspect and ESET Inspect On-Prem.

Hosting

Runs in the ESET-maintained cloud environment.

Runs on your physical environment.

Certificates

Certificate management is handled by ESET.

User can create, edit or import/export Certificates.

Dashboard

The dashboard does not contain Server status and Events load tabs (no maintenance is required by user).

 

Incidents

Machine learning Incident creator and ESET AI Advisor are available.

Only user created incidents.

Rules

Rule evaluation is done in ESET Inspect Connector.

User can set rule evaluation in ESET Inspect Server/ESET Inspect Connector.

Event filters

Filters are handled by ESET.

User can create, edit or import/export filters.

Settings

Database retention period is set:

for low-level data to one week

for detections to one month

 
Data collection is set to Store the most important data.

 

Remote access connector is not needed.

 

Trace log verbosity is handled by ESET.

 

Product Improvement Program is enabled.

 

User can set the database retention period and data collection.

 

Enable remote access connector if you want to provide the ESET Inspect Web Console remote access to the ESET Support team.

 

User can set trace log verbosity.

 

User can enable/disable Product Improvement Program.
