Connectivity

In large LAN networks, your computer's connection to the internet can be mediated by a proxy server. If this is the case, the following settings need to be defined. If you do not define the settings, the program cannot update itself automatically.

Specifying the proxy server at this level defines global proxy server settings for all of ESET Server Security. Parameters here will be used by all modules that connect to the internet.

Turn on the Use proxy server switch and then type the proxy server's address into the Proxy server field, along with the Port number of the proxy server.

Proxy server requires authentication

If network communication via proxy server requires authentication, enable this option and specify Username and Password.

Detect proxy server

Click Detect to automatically detect and populate proxy server settings. The parameters specified in Internet Explorer will be copied.

note

This feature does not retrieve authentication data (username and password); you must supply it.

Use direct connection if proxy is not available

If a product is configured to utilize HTTP Proxy and the proxy is unreachable, the product will bypass the proxy and communicate directly with ESET servers.
