Single Sign-On

Single Sign-On (SSO) is a feature that allows ESET Full Disk Encryption to automatically synchronize the ESET Full Disk Encryption password with a single user´s domain password, allowing the user to sign in one time and boot directly into their Windows profile.

Requirements

Activated ESET Full Disk Encryption version 2.0 or later

The ESET Full Disk Encryption computer must be connected to a domain

The latest versions of ESET PROTECT and ESET Agent products are installed

1.Configure the ESET Full Disk Encryption policy in ESET PROTECT and apply the policy to the target computers:

efde_policy_enable_single_sign_on

2.After the computer completes the Safe Start, ESET Full Disk Encryption prompts you to type your Windows password.

3.Click OK to begin the encryption process.

4.When you restart your computer, the encryption pre-boot authentication screen displays the user´s Windows username and a check box to log in to the user´s Windows profile.

The check box is selected by default. You can deselect the check box to boot the computer to the Windows sign-in screen if required.

important

Pre-boot password change

You cannot change the pre-boot password in the ESET Full Disk Encryption interface. Instead, you must change your Windows password locally on your computer by holding Ctrl + Alt + Del and selecting Change a password.

Applying Single Sign-On to existing users

Apply a new encryption policy with Single Sign-On enabled

or

Edit the existing encryption policy to enable Single Sign-On

When the new policy is applied to an ESET Full Disk Encryption computer, and after rebooting, you will receive the option to Sync ESET Full Disk Encryption and Windows passwords (use single sign-on) at the Windows sign-in screen.
