This setup is available in Advanced setup (F5) > Web and email > Secure Browser.

important

ESET LiveGrid® reputation system must be enabled (enabled by default) to ensure that Secure Browser protection works properly.

You can use one of the following Secure Browser configuration options:

  • Secure all browsers—All supported web browsers start in a secure mode. This enables you to browse the internet, access internet banking, and make online purchases and transactions in one secured browser window without redirection.
  • Websites redirection—Websites from a protected websites list and internal internet banking list redirect to the secured browser. You can select which browser (standard or secured) is opened.

note

Websites redirection is not available for devices with ARM processors.

  • Both previous options are disabled—To access a secured browser in ESET Endpoint Security, click Tools > Secure Browser. The browser, set as default in Windows, launches in a secure mode.

Enable Secure Browser—When enabled, the list of protected websites will become active, allowing you to open the Protected websites window.

Browser protection

Secure all browsers—Start all supported web browsers in a secure mode. This enables you to browse the internet, access internet banking, and make online purchases and transactions in one secure browser window without redirection.

Extension installation mode—From the drop-down menu, you can select which extensions will be allowed to be installed on a browser secured by ESET. Changing the Extension installation mode doesn't affect previously installed browser extensions:

  • Essential extensions—Only the most essential extensions, developed by a specific browser manufacturer.
  • All extensions—All extensions supported by a specific browser.

Websites redirection

Enable protected websites redirection—If enabled, websites from the protected websites list and internal internet banking list will be redirected to the secure browser.

Protected websites—A list of websites for which you can select which browser (normal or secure) is opened. An ESET logo will be displayed in your browser frame to signify active secure browsing.

Secure online banking and payment pages —Disabled by default. In addition to the list of Protected websites, websites in the ESET's internal list will be redirected to the browser secured by ESET. The websites identified by ESET are regularly updated.

Secured browser

Enhanced memory protection—If enabled, the secure browser memory will be protected from inspection by other processes.

Keyboard protection—If enabled, information typed via the keyboard into a secure browser will be hidden from other applications. This increases protection against keyloggers.

Browser's green frame—If disabled, the green frame around the browser's window and the related in-browser notification will be displayed briefly during the browser startup and then disappear. The green frame indicates that your browser is fully protected.

Configure Secure Browser interactive alerts—Enables you to open the Interactive alerts window.

note

In some situations, a specific interactive alert shows only when there is an error in starting Secure Browser properly. For more information, see the Interactive alerts chapter.
