EEI Agent Installation

There are several possible ways to install the EEI Agent:

Using GUI provided by the installer

Using Command line

Using ESET PROTECT Deployment

Using an All-in-one installer from ESET PROTECT

Before installing the EEI Agent, make sure you using using the latest ESET Endpoint Security product update.

Remember that if the EEI Agent lost the connection with the EEI Server, it caches the data locally, and the limit is 1GB. You can change this in the EIAgent.ini file located on target machines by adding parameter the MaxOfflineStorageSize, which controls the limit. The value is in Bytes, so the actual set value is 1073741824.

After installing or upgrading EEI Agent, there is approximately a 7-minute delay until the Agent starts to communicate with EEI Server. Because of that, you see the warning message in ESET PROTECT that the computer cannot connect to EEI Server. The EEI agent will be visible as active at the EEI Web Console immediately if connected correctly.
