Hardware requirements

Minimum hardware requirements to be met before the installation process to run ESET Endpoint Antivirus for Linux properly:

•processor Intel/AMD x64

•700MB of free hard disk space

Software requirements

The following operating systems of 64-bit architecture are officially supported and tested:

•Ubuntu Desktop 22.04 LTS

•Ubuntu Desktop 24.04 LTS

•Ubuntu Desktop 26.04 LTS

•Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8, 9, 10 with supported desktop environment installed.

Note

SELinux and AppArmor are supported on the distributions where they are present by default. ESET Endpoint Antivirus for Linux runs under the default context obtained from the system.


Important

The latest Linux kernel for Ubuntu Desktop 22.04 LTS/Linux Mint 21 requires gcc-12 for kernel modules compilation. See our Knowledgebase article for more information.

AWS kernel

Linux distributions with AWS kernel are not supported.

If the host operating system uses an unsupported language, English is used by default.

Network prerequisites

To ensure the proper functioning of the ESET Endpoint Antivirus for Linux allow the network prerequisites listed in the Knowledgebase article.

Active directory

To ensure correct identification of the User Principal Name (UPN) for each user in Active Directory (AD), configure AD through SSSD (System Security Services Daemon) for use with ESET Endpoint Antivirus for Linux.
