Applications
Here you can find information about installed applications such as Application Name, Current and Total Internet Usage, ESET LiveGrid® Reputation rating and application's Status. There is also information showing if inbound and outbound communications of the application are allowed or blocked.
Firewall actions for individual applications can be defined by using context menu. For example, if you want to block connections to an application with low ESET LiveGrid® reputation, you can Control+click (or right-click) the selected application, and this will bring up the context menu, where you can select Block any connections. The other options in the context menu are Allow any connections, Block only inbound connections, Allow outbound and trusted inbound connections, update frequency settings and Show in Finder.
The list of applications can be filtered to show only one of the following:
Apple Applications
Trusted Applications
Blocked Applications
Allowed Applications
To manage more detailed Firewall rules for applications, open Application Preferences by using cmd+, or click ESET Cyber Security in the macOS menu bar and select Settings (Preferences). Once you are in application preferences select Firewall, and Application Rules. For more information follow chapter Firewall.
