Encryption keys and Key-Files

Keys

Encryption keys perform data encryption. The key is used to scramble the data so that it can only be unscrambled using that same key. You can keep the only copy of a key or share it with others, as many times as you like. If you share a key, any holder of that key can decrypt any data you have encrypted with it.

Key-Files

Key-Files can hold several keys (up to 64, depending on your license type). While a single user may only need one key, you may need more than one key in any environment where you have a requirement to share data securely with another user. The Key-File enables you to have a single place where your keys are kept.
